Premier’s VCE Award - ​Yigit Deniz Senen
Strathmore Secondary College student, Yigit Deniz Senen, received top honours this year for his outstanding VCE results in 2020. Deniz who studied Units 3 & 4 Turkish last year whilst in Year 11, received a Premier’s VCE Award for excellence in Turkish making him the top student in the state for this subject. ​“I focused on this subject so much last year. I really wanted to do well. I aimed for the top and thankfully I achieved it,” said Deniz, proving that excellent results can be achieved with hard work. Deniz is now studying Year 12 at Strathmore Secondary College.
“This year, as I complete Year 12, I have set myself the same goals as last year and I hope to achieve similar results in all my subjects. I hope to get into a university here in Melbourne to study Civil Engineering.”
College principal, Ms. Jillian English, said the entire school community was proud of Deniz because he is such a great example of the determination of our students. In addition, his success highlights the support offered by our diligent and dedicated staff and student's families.
