Herald Sun Shield Football Competition
For the first time in our schools history, Strathmore will be competing in the Herald Sun Shield Football Competition.
The Herald Sun Shield is Australia’s longest standing school football competition and pits the best private, public, catholic and independent school football teams from across the state against one another.
In 2022 our Intermediate Girls football team (years 9 and 10) made it all the way to the state final which gained us access to this years Herald Sun Shield Competition.
On Tuesday the 25th of July, Strathmore (seeded 4th in division 1) will be taking on Sacred Heart College Geelong (seeded 1) at Coburg City Oval at 12pm. In the other semi-final Carey Grammar will take on Ballarat Grammar with the two winners to play off in the grand final on August 10.
The game will be live streamed with commentary on the kommunity tv website and you can find the link below. (may need a Herald Sun online subscription)
Yesterday our Herald Sun Shield Captain Taylah Gilcrist of 10N1 took part in a photo shoot on Marvel Stadium.
The girls are extremely excited and I have included our team line up below, which was announced to the girls yesterday. The team is made up of Year 10, 9 and 8 girls with one Year 7, Zoey Steer, making the final team.
